Bills End Lions’ Record 11-Game Streak, Texans Clinch Division, Eagles Soar to 10th Straight Win
Bills 48, Lions 42
Josh Allen delivered a spectacular performance, throwing for two touchdowns and running for two more, as the Buffalo Bills ended the Detroit Lions’ franchise-record 11-game winning streak with a thrilling 48-42 victory in Detroit.
Allen amassed 362 passing yards and 68 rushing yards, contributing to his remarkable total of 10 touchdowns over the last two games. James Cook added a stellar ground game, rushing for 105 yards and two touchdowns as the Bills improved to 11-3.
Despite the loss, Lions quarterback Jared Goff had a career day, throwing for 494 yards and tying his personal best with five touchdown passes. Amon-Ra St. Brown also shined, setting career highs with 14 receptions and 193 receiving yards, along with a touchdown.
The offensive explosion saw both teams combine for 1,080 yards—Buffalo gained 559, while Detroit totaled 521. The loss drops the Lions to 12-2, now tied with the Philadelphia Eagles for the NFC’s best record. The Minnesota Vikings, also at two losses, have a chance to move up with a game against the Chicago Bears on Monday night.
Texans 20, Dolphins 12
Rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud threw two touchdown passes to Nico Collins as the Houston Texans clinched the AFC South title with a win over the Miami Dolphins.
Houston’s defense played a pivotal role, with Will Anderson Jr. forcing a critical strip-sack and Derek Stingley Jr. recording two interceptions. Calen Bullock added another pick, securing the Texans’ dominant defensive performance. The Texans (9-5) officially locked up the division title later in the day after the Indianapolis Colts lost to the Denver Broncos.
Tua Tagovailoa struggled for Miami (6-8), completing 29 of 40 passes for 196 yards and a touchdown but also committing four turnovers, including a fumble and three interceptions, tying his career worst. The Dolphins now face an uphill battle, sitting two games out in the AFC wild-card race.
Eagles 27, Steelers 13
Jalen Hurts continued his MVP-caliber season, throwing for two touchdowns and running for another to lead the Philadelphia Eagles to their 10th straight win, a franchise record, with a 27-13 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Playing through a reported broken finger on his non-throwing hand, Hurts completed 25 of 32 passes for 290 yards. He connected with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith for touchdowns while adding 45 rushing yards and his 14th rushing touchdown of the season.
The Eagles (12-2) leaned heavily on their passing game, which had been the subject of drama earlier in the week regarding Hurts’ relationship with Brown. Brown responded with eight catches for 110 yards, silencing any speculation.
The Steelers fell to 7-7 and struggled offensively, failing to capitalize on opportunities against Philadelphia’s dominant defense.
Looking Ahead
With the Lions’ streak broken, the NFC playoff race tightens as the Eagles and Vikings now share the conference’s top spot. Meanwhile, the Texans celebrate a division title and continue their push for postseason success, while Miami’s playoff hopes take a hit in the AFC. The season’s final weeks promise more drama as teams battle for playoff positioning.
