Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer Award Nominees Revealed

McIlroy, Schauffele, Scheffler Lead Jack Nicklaus Award Nominees; Four Contend for Arnold Palmer Award

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The PGA TOUR unveiled the nominees for the 2024 Jack Nicklaus Award (Player of the Year) and Arnold Palmer Award (Rookie of the Year) on Monday. The nominations, finalized by the Player Advisory Council (PAC) and Player Directors, include three standout players for Player of the Year and four rising stars for Rookie of the Year.

Player of the Year Nominees

The 2024 Jack Nicklaus Award nominees are Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, and Scottie Scheffler, all of whom had remarkable seasons:

  • Rory McIlroy (35, Northern Ireland): Secured two victories (Zurich Classic, Truist Championship), finished 9th in the FedExCup, and recorded seven top-10 finishes. Ranked sixth in scoring average at 69.914.
  • Xander Schauffele (31, California): Achieved major victories at the PGA Championship and The Open, with 15 top-10 finishes and no missed cuts. Ranked second in scoring average (69.137) and ended the season 4th in the FedExCup.
  • Scottie Scheffler (28, Texas): Dominated the season with seven wins, including the Masters, THE PLAYERS, and TOUR Championship. Won the 2024 FedExCup and the Olympic gold medal, while leading the TOUR with 16 top-10 finishes and a record-low scoring average of 68.645.

Rookie of the Year Nominees

The 2024 Arnold Palmer Award contenders are Nick Dunlap, Max Greyserman, Jake Knapp, and Matthieu Pavon:

  • Nick Dunlap (20, Alabama): Made history as the first player to win as both an amateur and a professional in a single season, with victories at The American Express and Barracuda Championship. Qualified for the BMW Championship and finished 49th in the FedExCup.
  • Max Greyserman (29, New Jersey): Tallied three runner-up finishes and additional top-10 results in six events. Made 19 cuts in 26 starts, finishing 48th in the FedExCup.
  • Jake Knapp (30, Arizona): Claimed his first TOUR victory at the Mexico Open and secured three additional top-10 finishes. Qualified for the FedExCup Playoffs, ending the season ranked 59th.
  • Matthieu Pavon (32, France): Delivered a standout rookie season with a win at the Farmers Insurance Open and a fifth-place finish at the U.S. Open. The only rookie to qualify for the TOUR Championship, finishing 17th in the FedExCup.

Voting Process

PGA TOUR members who played in at least 15 events during the 2024 season are eligible to vote. Voting closes on December 4 at 5 p.m. ET, with winners set to be announced by year’s end.
