Raiders Extend Safety Isaiah Pola-Mao with Two-Year Deal

The Las Vegas Raiders have secured the future of safety Isaiah Pola-Mao, signing him to a two-year contract extension. While the team did not disclose financial terms, reports from NFL Network indicate the deal is worth $8.45 million.

A Rising Defensive Playmaker

Pola-Mao, 25, has steadily developed into a key contributor for the Raiders’ defense. Originally signed as an undrafted free agent in 2022, the former USC standout worked his way up the depth chart before earning a starting role in the 2024 season. He started the final 14 games of the year and delivered an impressive campaign, finishing with 89 tackles, five passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and a sack across 17 appearances.

Continuing a Hall of Fame Legacy

As the nephew of Hall of Famer and Steelers legend Troy Polamalu, Pola-Mao has football greatness in his blood. Though he entered the league without the hype of a high draft selection, his relentless work ethic and versatility in the Raiders’ secondary have made him a valuable asset. His ability to read offenses, make clutch tackles, and force turnovers proved instrumental in stabilizing the Raiders’ defense down the stretch last season.

Looking Ahead in Las Vegas

Through three seasons with the Raiders, Pola-Mao has appeared in 44 games, with 14 career starts. His new contract ensures he will remain a foundational piece of the Raiders’ defense as they continue to build under their current regime.

With his breakout season now behind him, Pola-Mao will look to build on his success and further solidify his place as one of the team’s defensive leaders heading into the 2025 campaign.
