Rory McIlroy Shoots 66 to Win AT&T Pebble Beach

Rory McIlroy Dominates Final Round to Win AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

In his first PGA Tour appearance of 2025, Rory McIlroy made a statement with a sensational final round at Pebble Beach Golf Links, carding a 6-under-par 66 on Sunday to capture the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am title. The Northern Irishman finished at 21-under 267, securing a two-shot victory in windy and chilly conditions on the California coast.

The victory marks McIlroy’s 27th PGA Tour title, kicking off his 2025 season in style after winning twice last year. The 35-year-old had previously admitted to struggling during the tour’s West Coast swing, but this time, he delivered a composed and confident performance to claim the trophy.

McIlroy’s Clutch Finish Seals the Title

One of the defining moments of McIlroy’s final round came at the par-5 14th hole, where he eagled after hitting the green in two with a driver and 7-iron. From 26.5 feet, he rolled in a brilliant putt, extending his lead to four strokes at a crucial moment in the tournament.

McIlroy wasn’t done yet, adding a birdie on the 15th hole, further cementing his position at the top. Though Lucas Glover and Justin Rose made late pushes, including Rose’s incredible eagle from the fringe on 18, McIlroy remained calm and in control, comfortably closing out the victory.

Final Leaderboard & Notable Performances

  • 2nd Place: Shane Lowry (Ireland) – 19-under (Final Round: 68)
  • T-3rd Place: Lucas Glover (67) & Justin Rose (68) – 18-under
  • T-5th Place: Russell Henley (67) & Cam Davis (69) – 17-under
  • T-7th Place: Tom Kim (70) & Sepp Straka (72) – 16-under
  • T-9th Place: Scottie Scheffler (67) & two others – 15-under

Straka, who had led after three rounds, faltered with just one birdie and two bogeys through 13 holes. His late three birdies in five holes weren’t enough to keep pace, as he finished five shots behind McIlroy.

A Strong Start to 2025 for McIlroy

With his commanding victory, McIlroy not only silences doubts about his struggles in California but also sends a strong message for the rest of the season. His ability to handle the tough conditions at Pebble Beach and deliver in the clutch sets him up as one of the top contenders for major championships in 2025.

With his powerful ball-striking, precise iron play, and confidence on the greens, McIlroy has made it clear—he’s here to dominate this season.
