San Diego FC bolstered their midfield by acquiring veteran Emmanuel Boateng from the New England Revolution on Monday. The expansion club, set to join MLS in 2025, secured Boateng in exchange for $200,000 in general allocation money.
Boateng’s MLS Career
Boateng, 30, brings a wealth of experience, having played 210 MLS matches across stints with the LA Galaxy (2016-19), D.C. United (2019-20), Columbus Crew (2020), and the New England Revolution (2021-24). Over his career, the Ghanaian midfielder has tallied 17 goals and 26 assists.
In the 2023 season, Boateng contributed two goals and two assists in 23 appearances, including eight starts, showcasing his ability to influence games in both attacking and supporting roles.
