RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – Freshman Taylor Fox, representing the No. 2-ranked women’s swimming and diving program, earned a solid fifth-place finish at the 2024 World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships on Wednesday. Competing in the 16-18 age group, Fox delivered a strong performance on the 3-meter springboard, scoring 391.90 points in the highly competitive event.

Fox, diving for Team USA, finished within striking distance of the top spots, just 73 points behind gold medalist Yiping Long from China. Fox was also narrowly edged out by China’s Jiadan Liu, who secured the fourth position with a score just 2.90 points ahead of her. With only a slim six-point gap separating her from third place, Fox’s impressive consistency and precision on the board highlighted her potential on the international stage.

Looking ahead, Fox and her teammates from the Longhorns will return to action at the upcoming US Diving Winter Nationals, where they will continue their preparation for the spring season.

This performance at the Junior World Championships marks a strong start to Fox’s collegiate diving career, showcasing her skill and composure under pressure as she continues to make her mark in the world of competitive diving.
